Curious about what actually happens when glaze goes into the kiln? In Glaze 101, you’ll get hands-on with the science, techniques, and creative possibilities of ceramic glazing.
You’ll learn how glazes work, how to mix your own glaze from scratch using raw materials, and how different application techniques can change the final result.
You’ll receive one mug to glaze and take home, along with test tiles and practice pieces to experiment with different glaze combinations and techniques before committing to your final piece.
You’re also welcome to bring your own bisque-fired pottery to experiment with, or purchase additional bisqueware at the studio if you’d like to test your new glaze combinations on more pieces.
